How to summarize a PDF without losing the important parts
A useful summary names the document’s purpose, the decisions it contains, and the questions that still need an answer.
A clear sequence
- Start with the question you want the document to answer.
- Keep the document title and date attached to the summary.
- Separate facts, decisions, and unresolved points.
- Check names, numbers, and deadlines against the source.
- Link the summary back to the original file.
Summaries should shorten the path to the source, not make the source unnecessary.
